Tonganoxie Community Historical Society 4th Tuesday program to take closer look at D-Day
Tonganoxie Community Historical Society will have its Fourth Tuesday Program next week and it will focus in on World War II.
The program is 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the TCHS museum, 201 W. Washington St. The event begins at 7 p.m. with a brief business meeting and then a program sponsored by Tonganoxie Civic Club.
Christopher Carey will present his program “Tides, Terrain and Nazis: How the Allies Planned to Invade France.”
Carey is a military historian with the Army University Press at Fort Leavenworth. He researches, writes, produces and directs films for the Army. This presentation will explore his newest film, which premiered in October, “D-Day: Planning the Impossible.”

The historical society’s Fourth Tuesday program is a monthly event that brings in guest speakers versed in various topics for presentations and a short TCHS business meeting. Refreshments also are served at each Fourth Tuesday.
