Pool tournament, auction to benefit local boy with autoimmune disease

A pool tournament and auction Saturday at Hilltop Bar will benefit a local youth who is battling Henoch-schonlein purpura, an auto-immune disease.

The event starts at 2 p.m. Saturday at the bar and restaurant, 19611 McLouth Rd., west of Tonganoxie.

Melissa Wilhite has been organizing the benefit for her son Chase, who was diagnosed with condition in December.

The double-elimination tournament is Scotch doubles with a $20 entry fee. The Top 3 finishers will earn cash prizes. There also will be a 50/50 raffle and a 6 p.m. live auction with Adam Bryant.

Any items or baskets for the auction are welcome.

Cash donations can be sent via Venmo to @Melissa-Wilhite-4 as well.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward medical bills for Chase, who is nonverbal autistic. It also will help in help cover days of missed work for his mother to care for him.
