A little bit of road work on the north side of Topeka could slow you down, but other than that you should have a perfect commute with no fowl weather.
At 2:45 a.m., the National Weather Service issued a flash flood warnning for several areas, including Leavenworth, Wyandotte and Johnson counties in northeast Kansas. The warning remains in effect until 8:30 a.m.
The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill, Mo., has issued a flood advisory for counties in Kansas and Missouri. Leavenworth, Johnson and Wyandotte counties are included in the advisory. It is an urban and small stream flood advisory that is in effect until noon Monday.
Strong, isolated thunderstorms may slow travelers near the end of the evening commute. Those traveling along I-70 near the East Lawrence Interchange will see a delay due to construction, as will commuters on K-7 near Shawnee Mission Parkway. Traffic there is reduced to one lane in both directions.
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 3 a.m. Tuesday for Leavenworth County and a flash flood watch until noon Tuesday for the county.Jefferson and Douglas counties, meanwhile, join several Kansas counties in a tornado watch until midnight Tuesday.
Construction on south/east and north Topeka exits could cause delays this morning. There is also light fog across the area.
