James Sandlin
Funeral services for James Richard (Dick) Sandlin, 73, of Overland Park, were Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008, at Queen of the Holy Rosary in Overland Park, with burial at Mount Hope Cemetery in Hiawatha, Kan.
Mr. Sandlin died Saturday, Aug. 9, 2008.
He was born Jan. 10, l935, in Wagoner, Okla., the son of Henry and Elsie Sandlin.
Mr. Sandlin served in the U.S. Air Force and was currently employed by a local furniture company, Madden McFarland Interiors. Mr. Sandlin enjoyed spending time with his family, being a ham radio operator, and was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and served as a greeter.
He married Mary Steinhauser on Nov. 14, 1959, in Hiawatha. She survives.
Other survivors include three sons, Brian, Redondo Beach, Ca., Mark, Overland Park, and Patrick, Shawnee; a sister, Louise Carroll, Lufkin, Tex.; and a brother, Gerald, Del City, Okla.
