Marjorie Cox
Funeral services for Marjorie L. Cox, 79, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2008, at Warren-McElwain Mortuary–Eudora Chapel. Burial will follow at the Eudora Cemetery.
She died Dec, 1, 2008, at Windsor Place in Lawrence.
She was born Nov. 7, 1929, in Erie, the daughter of Roy Lorenzo and Marie Nola (Craig) Culbertson.
She graduated from Erie High School. She moved to Eudora in 1977 from Erie and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Eudora. She had been a member of the Kindergarten Mother’s Club-PTA, a room mother, a member of the Manasseh County Choir, a den mother for the Cub Scouts and a member of Home Demonstrators County Unit, She also helped with 4-H.
She married Eldon Orval Cox on March 21, 1948, in Erie. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 2007.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Lou Marnell, Bartlesville, Okla., and Jacqueline Sue Crumrine, Wichita; three sons, Rex Eldon, Lawrence, Gary Lee, Mulvane, and Brent, Eudora; and eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until the service at the Eudora Chapel. Mrs. Cox will lie in state from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008 at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Eudora Library and sent in care of the mortuary.
