Albert English

Visitation for Albert W. English were Saturday at Bruce Funeral Home in Gardner. A family then received visitors Tuesday at Oakey’s Funeral Chapel in Roanoke,Va. with graveside services following at Sherwood Cemetery in Roanoke.
Mr. English was born April 24, 2924, in Roanoke to Winston and Clara (Wray) English. He graduagted in Roanoke College in Salem, Va., with a bachelor’s in physics and math. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Overland Park and an avid reader.
He marrided Frances Ashworth of Roanoke. The couple lived in Virginia, New Jersey and Utah before settling in Kansas in 1976 and Mr. English was employed by Hercules Inc.
He was preceded in death by a sister Ruth Moses. He is survived by his wife, Frances, of the home; daughter Tina Diane English, Pleasanton; and adopted grandchildren Nicole Roush and Kelsey Roush Smith.
