Frances Goff
A memorial visitation for Frances E. Goff, 79, Lawrence, will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Private inurnment will be at a later date.
Mrs. Goff died Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
She was born on Nov. 11, 1928, in Cleveland, the daughter of George and Ethel Peacock Lynn.
She worked as a nurse’s aide at Lawrence Memorial Hospital for 15 years before retiring in 1984. Earlier, she had worked in the LMH kitchen.
She was formerly a co-owner of G&F Caning in her home.
Mrs. Goff was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church and the Douglas County Republican Women. Earlier, she was a member of Brookdale E.H.U. and was active in the PTA at East Heights School.
She married George E. Goff Sr. on Dec. 11, 1956 in Lawrence. He survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a son, George E. Jr. and wife Barbara, of Baldwin City; a daughter, Vicki Goff Miller and husband John, of Lawrence; a sister, Marjorie Lynn, of Boston; and four grandchildren, John Jr. and April L. Miller and Jennifer C. and Jaimie E. Goff.
The family suggests memorials to the Douglas County Visiting Nurses, Rehabilitation and Hospice Care or the Lawrence Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit, sent in care of the mortuary.
