Eldean Shultz

Memorial services for Eldean Shultz of De Soto will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the De Soto Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m. in the church. He died Saturday, April 4, at Hillside Village in De Soto.
Mr. Shultz was born Aug. 29, 1921, near Lebo in Coffey County to Elmer Edwin and Anna Belle Clarkson Shultz. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Lila “Jeannie” Beecroft on Jan. 18, 1945, in Olathe, and the couple moved to De Soto. He was a heavy construction labor supervisor for Tigner Construction and also worked for Tri City and Tobins Construction, mostly on road and highway projects.
Mr. Shultz attended De Soto Baptist church and was a member of Laborer’s International Local Union 1290. He was a gardener and expert woodworker who built cabinets for family members.
He was preceded in death by his wife; two brothers, Harold and Glen; three sisters, Lois Brown, Vaneeta Lafferty and an infant sister; son Jack Shultz; and a grandchild. He is survived by sister Freida Yeager, Gardner; daughters Pat Terry and Dale of Ottawa, IL, Peggy Likins of Osawatomie, KS and Deanna Frackowiak and Dirk of Paola, KS; son Derald D Shultz and Wendy of De Soto; seven grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
