Byron Rausch

Memorial visitation for Byron “Barney” Arthur Rausch, 74, Kansas City, Kan., was Monday, Dec. 14, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs. Private burial will be at a later date at Mt. Sidney Cemetery in Linwood.
Mr. Rausch died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, after a long illness.
He was born July 23, 1935, at the family home in Muncie, the son of Fred and Louise Rausch.
Mr. Rausch grew up in Muncie and graduated from Turner High School. He retired after 27 years as an electrician for General Motors. He played in numerous pool leagues and tournaments in the area.
Survivors include four children, Byron Rausch II and wife, Kathy, and Debra Thoele, all of Kansas City, Kan., John Rausch and wife, Kay, and William Rausch, all of Macks Creek, Mo.; a sister, Shirley Johnson and husband, Wayne, Danbury, Conn.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the funeral home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
