Virginia Vanderhagen

Mass of Christian Burial for Ginny VanDerhagen, 84, Shawnee, was Tuesday, Dec. 29, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Shawnee. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mrs. VanDerhagen died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009.
She was born Oct. 25, 1925, in Schenectady, N.Y., the daughter of James and Margurite Fountain Woodward.
Mrs. VanDerhagen worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration as an administrative assistant before retiring in 1983. She was a member of Shawnee American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Shawnee Irish Club and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Frank VanDerhagen, Shawnee; a son, Robert VanDerhagen, Orlando, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Miriam Woodward; and a granddaughter.
Her daughter, Nancy Kasparek, died earlier.
The family suggests memorials to the St. Joseph Ladies Auxiliary, sent in care of Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203.
