Robert Compton

Mass of Christian Burial for Robert E. Compton, 78, Shawnee, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Shawnee.
Mr. Compton died Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Kansas City Hospice House after a battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
He was born May 18, 1930.
Mr. Compton was a member of Iron Workers Local No. 10 and St. Joseph Catholic Church and he was an avid outdoorsman.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret, of the home; two sons, Chris, Overland Park, and Mark, Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Amy Reich, Woodbridge, Calif.; a sister, Marcelline Zabel, Atchison; and eight grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Kansas City Hospice House, sent in care of Amos Family Funeral Home, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203.
