Richard Riedel
Services for Richard B. Riedel, 73, Tonganoxie, will be 7 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at Quisenberry Funeral Home, Tonganoxie.
Preceding the service will be visitation, which will start at 5 p.m.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, July 3, at the Claflin Cemetery in Claflin.
Mr. Riedel died Monday, June 29, 2009, at his home.
He was born April 8, 1936, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of August and Lena Heinen Riedel. He was a 1954 graduate of Beloit High School.
Mr. Riedel was a sergeant in the Kansas National Guard. He worked as a truck driver and also for the Tonganoxie School District. Mr. Riedel also taught hunter’s education for 30 years. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Tonganoxie Civic Club and Ducks Unlimited. He was preceded in death by his son, Brian, in 1967.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Lou Riedel, of the home; son, Roger Riedel, Shawnee; three daughters, Denise Riedel, Lawrence, Margaret Weedin, Olathe, and Renee Riedel, Shawnee; sister Marianne Orr, Wichita; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
