Mass of Christian Burial for Carrol Robert Schopper, 81, Eudora, was Wednesday at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora. Burial will be in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.
Mr. Schopper died Friday, March 13, 2009, at his home in Eudora.
He was born July 21, 1927, in Eudora, the son of John H. and Helen M. Grosdidier Schopper. He graduated from Eudora High School.
Mr. Schopper was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served at Fort Riley. He was a longtime Eudora resident and farmer.
He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church where he was active in the Perpetual Adoration Society and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Eudora Lions Club and the N.R.A.
Survivors include five sisters, Carmelite nuns Marcella and Dolorosa Schopper, both of St. Louis, Mary Ann Schopper and Alberta Pyle, both of Eudora, and Rose Cordry of Olathe; a brother, George, Leawood; and many nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to the Sancta Maria School or to a charity of the donor’s choice, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, Eudora Chapel, 1003 John L. Williams Drive, Eudora, KS 66025.
