Louis Dornberger

Memorial services for Louis C. Dornberger, 70, Clearview City, will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Church of the Nazarene in McLouth. Inurnment with military services will be in the McLouth Cemetery. He died Nov. 22, 2009, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
He was born Jan. 1, 1939 in Manchester, Kan., the son of Chester and Ruby (Moyer) Dornberger. He served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War and continued his service for 22 years. After retiring from the Army, he worked at Packer Plastics for eight years and for McElhaney Fence Company.
He was a life member of De Soto VFW Post No. 6654. He married Anne Nowak on Dec. 13, 1975, in Abilene.
Survivors include his wife of the home: daughter Lea Huber and husband, Jon, De Soto; a son, Staff Sgt. Paul Dornberger and wife, Diana of Hoisington; two adopted daughters, DeLinda Sims, Kilgore, Texas and Kelly Baumberger and husband, Rod, Wichita; adopted son, Darrell Elliott, Flower Mound, Texas; a brother, John Dornberger, Salina; a sister, Edna Raab, Abilene; eleven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials in his name to V.F.W. Post No. 6654 in De Soto and may be sent in care of the Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence.
