Mae Goul
Services for Mae Ellen Goul, 82, of Shawnee, will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at the D.W. Newcomer’s Sons Overland Park Chapel. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at Cherokee City Cemetery in Cherokee, Kan.
Mrs. Goul died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009, after a long and brave battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born March 15, 1927, in Miami, Okla.
Mrs. Goul, who lived for 40 years in Shawnee, was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church of Shawnee.
Her husband of 63 years, Robert Goul, died earlier as did a grandson.
Survivors include three daughters, Darlene (Bill) Bruce, Platte City, Mo., Mary (John) Grimsley, Kansas City, Kan., and Connie (A.J.) Andrews, Shawnee; four sons, Gary (Patricia) Goul, Gardner, Robert (Chele) Goul, Kansas City, Kan., Jerry (Martia) Goul, Olathe, and Roger (Cathy) Goul, Paola; 24 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and five great-great- grandchildren.
A visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, prior to the services.
The family suggests memorials to Team Mae at the local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, sent in care of the funeral chapel, 8201 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS 66204.
