Leo “Kookie” Ray, Jr.
Olathe — Visitation services for Leo (Kookie) Clayton Ray, Jr., 51, Olathe, were held Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at the Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at the chapel, followed by burial at the Ressurection Catholic Cemetery in Lenexa.
Mr. Ray died April 11, 2010, at the Olathe Medical Center.
He was born July 21, 1958, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Leo Clayton and Marion Rozelle (Darrah) Ray.
Leo was a strong Christian and a member of the Lenexa Christian Center in Lenexa. He was a graduate of Shawnee Mission Northwest High School and US Army. Kookie had love of automobiles owning at least five Corvettes and many other vehicles during his lifetime. He worked for many years as a car salesman.
Preceding him in death was his father, Leo Clayton Ray, Sr. Survivors include his mother, Marion R. Ray, and her husband Keith Ashlock of Lenexa; a daughter, Hannah Duby, and her husband Lindsey of Shawnee; a son, Ryan Ray of Kansas City, Kan.; two brothers, Larry C. Ray and James D. Ray, both of Olathe; and five grandchildren.
