Buford Erwin
Services for Buford Wayne Erwin, 87, Kansas City, Kan., were 6 p.m. Monday, April 12, at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, 701 N. 94th St., Kansas City, Kan. Burial was at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Erwin died Friday, April 9, 2010, at his home.
He was born on Oct. 28, 1922. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service, where he worked as a letter carrier and supervisor. He was a member of the Postal Union for 60 years.
Mr. Erwin was a member of the Free Masons of Kansas and the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 1999.
He started, organized and worked as a leader for 13 years for the Hornets’ 4-H Club. He was photography leader for the Hornets, worked as a wedding photographer for many years and was photographer for The Leaven newspaper .
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lois J. (Mead) Erwin, of the home; two daughters, Janet Manson (Tim) and Diane Jennings (Wayne); a brother, Keith Erwin, Chico, Calif.; four grandsons; and a great-granddaughter.
