Katelynn, Alissa and Madelynn Spencer
Services for Katelynn Danielle Spencer, 8, Alissa Ruthann Spencer, 5, and Madelynn Nicole Spencer, 4, all of Meriden, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. Burial will be in Bloomfield-St. Paul Cemetery, Meriden.
Katelynn and Alissa died Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at Meriden. Madelynn died Thursday, July 29, 2010, at Children’s Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, Mo. The girls were involved in traffic accident in Jefferson County, Kan.
Katelynn was born Dec. 13, 2001, in Kansas City, Kan. Katie had just completed the second grade at Valley Falls. She was a member of the Valley Falls Brownie Scouts and Prosperity 4-H Club.
Alissa was born Sept. 15, 2004, in Kansas City, Kan. She had just completed pr-school at Valley Falls and was a member of the Valley Falls Daisy Scouts. She was a Clover Bud in the Prosperity 4-H Club.
Madelynn “Maddie” was born April 10, 2006, in Shawnee.
Survivors include their parents, Chad A. and Stephanie L. (Evans) Spencer, of the home in Meriden; grandparents, Michael and Carol Evans, Valley Falls, and Howard and Sharon Spencer, Bonner Springs; great-grandparents, Virginia Masters, Mt. Morris, Ill., Richard and Marilyn Evans, Monmouth, Ill., Jackie Umbenhower and Florence Spencer, both of Bonner Springs, and Bert and Karen Craig, Hatfield, Mo.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at the funeral chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The girls loved animals and enjoyed their association with 4-H. The family suggests memorial contributions to Valley Falls 4-H Club, c/o 4-H Foundation, P.O. Box 326, Oskaloosa, KS 66066, Jefferson County Humane Society, 15295 Kansas Highway 4, Valley Falls, KS 66088, or any humane society.
