Billy Pettit

Memorial services for Billy Rea Pettit, 78, Tonganoxie, will be 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Bonner Springs.
Mr. Pettit died Tuesday, Aug. 3, at his home.
He was born Feb. 11, 1932, in England, Ark., and had lived in this area since the 1950s. He had worked at Griffin Wheel in Muncie for 28 years until the plant closed. Later he farmed in Linn County for 15 years before retiring and moving in 2005to Tonganoxie.
A grandson died in 1989.
Survivors include two sons, Lonnie Pettit, Blue Mound, and Jerry Pettit, Hot Springs, Ark.; a daughter, Carol Clooney, Overland Park; two brothers, Bud Pettit, England, Ark., and Wendel Pettit, Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Alice Marie, Kansas City, Mo.; and three grandchildren.
