Wanda Evans

Services for Wanda Jo Evans, 88, of De Soto, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at Monticello United Methodist Church, Shawnee. Burial will be at Johnson County Memorial Gardens, Overland Park.
Mrs. Evans died Monday, Aug. 23, 2010.
She was born May 11, 1922, the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Burndage.
Mrs. Evans was legally blind and was a member of the West Central Workers of the Blind. In August of 1994 she served as president of the WCWB.
She loved to write poems, dance and play Pinochle and Pitch.
Her husband of 45 years, Wayne E. Evans, and a grandchild preceded her in death.
Survivors include three children, Rodney Evans, Shawnee, Bill Evans, Blue Springs, Mo., and Rose Ellen Conner, Scottsdale, Ariz.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will precede the services at 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
