Wilfred Westgate

No services are planned for Wilfred “Willie” P. Westgate, 79, Mission, Texas, and formerly of Baldwin City. Mr. Westgate died Jan. 21, 2010, at his home. He was cremated.
He was born Jan. 18, 1931, in Wamego, the son of Nellie Elizabeth and Donald Porter Westgate.
Mr. Westgate married Teresa Randel on Oct. 28, 1951, in Baldwin City. The couple lived in Baldwin City until his retirement from the Sunflower Ordnance Plant in the 1980s, when they moved to Texas.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; sons Ronald Westgate and wife, Anne, and Randel Westgate, all of Baldwin City, Robert Westgate, Ottawa, Kan., and Rick Westgate and wife, Kellie, Ottawa, Texas; a daughter Willa Huffman and husband, Steve, Baldwin City; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Myron Westgate, Dan Westgate and sisters Hazel “Bobbie” Gleason, Winnie Trotter and Jessie Ruddell.
