David “Burt” Burton

Services for David “Burt” Burton, 51, Centerville, were Tuesday, June 29, at Thomas Funeral Home, Centerville.
Mr. Burton died Friday, June 25, 2010.
He was born April 3, 1959, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Gerald and Willa (Lloyd) Burton. He graduated in 1978 from Bonner Springs (Kan.) High School.
Mr. Burton was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was proud of his Lumbee Indian heritage.
He married Ginger Moore on May 1, 1999, in Ventura, Calif. She survives.
Other survivors include two children, Tiago and Tarzana, both of Centerville; his parents; two brothers, Gary Burton, Overland Park, Kan., and Brett Burton, Leavenworth, Kan.; two sisters, Kristi Burton-Cox, Kansas City, Kan., and Kelly Burton-Anderson, Overland Park.
The family suggests memorials to his children’s collegiate fund, sent in care of Thomas Funeral Home, 23548 Hwy 5, P.O. Box 125, Centerville, IA 52544.
