Roger Wilks
Funeral services for Roger Lee Wilks, 54, Lawrence, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
Mr. Wilks died Monday, June 14, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 10, 1956, in Leavenworth, the son of Chester Arthur Sr. and Mary Jane Henninger Wilks.
Mr. Wilks was a self-employed mechanic. He worked many years as a truck driver for Mayflower.
He married Sandra Cool on Oct. 5, 1975, in Lawrence. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Carrie Clover and husband Ricky, Baldwin City; two sons, William, Eudora, and Wesley, Lansing; two sisters, Janet Ackley, Lawrence, and Judy Akins, Ottawa; five brothers, Loubie Anderson Sr., Henry Edward Sr. and James Marvin, all of Perry, John William, Lawrence, and Michael Leroy, Oskaloosa; and six grandchildren, Taylor, Owen, Westen, Caleb, Ayden and Wesley II.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; a brother, Chester Wilks Jr.; and a grandson, Austin Clover, on Feb. 11, 2010.
The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 W. 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044.
The family will greet friends from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary.
