Sandra Kelley
A memorial service for Sandra Sue (Martin) Kelley, 67, Garfield, Ark., will be noon Saturday, June 19, at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, Kansas City, Kan. Private inurnment will take place at a later date.
Mrs. Kelley died Sunday, June 13, 2010, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 4, 1942, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Lyle Richard and Thelma Rita (Dotson) Martin. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1960. She and her husband Gerald, built, owned and operated Kelley’s Grill and Bar in Basehor until 1996. After they retired, they moved to Beaver Lake in Garfield, Ark.
Mrs. Kelley was an active member of Basehor Booster Club, 4-H Club and PTA. She also frequently volunteered as a room mother at school and at church. She was a member of the Kansas Quarter Horse Association, and she rode and showed horses in both English and Western pleasure events. She was an active member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Bentonville, Ark.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald W. Kelley of Garfield, Ark.; a son, Mark (Connie) Sanchez, Lansing; a daughter, Gina Sanchez, Mountain Home, Ark.; a sister, Sharon (Larry) Forbach, Olathe; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
