Roy Allen

Services for Roy M. “Monti” Allen, 55, of Bonner Springs, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, at New Life Family Church of God, 4835 Shawnee Drive, Kansas City, Kan. Burial will be at Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Mr. Allen died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo., after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on June 7, 1954, in Amarillo, Texas, the son of Paul E. and Billie (Furrow) Allen. He was a graduate of Bonner Springs High School and served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Allen enjoyed his work as a carpenter. He attended New Life Family Church of God.
One wife, Elizabeth Allen, died in 1993.
Survivors include wife, Angela Allen; seven children, Megan Allen, Selena Allen, Paul E. Allen, Samuel L. Allen, Anna Allen, Celeste Allen and Nathan T. Allen; his parents, Paul and Billie Allen, Bonner Springs; two brothers, Chester P. and David E. Allen; two sisters, Paulett Goorsky and Jenny Eich; eight grandchildren; and six stepchildren to whom he was a father figure.
Visitation was Tuesday at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs.
The family suggests memorials to the funeral home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012, to help the family with expenses.
