Lester Hale

Mass of Christian Burial for Lester L. Hale, 81, Shawnee, will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Mr. Hale died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Mo.
He was born Jan. 22, 1929.
Mr. Hale was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Navy. He was a machinist for Proctor and Gamble for 33 years, retiring in 1984.
Survivors include his wife, Jean (Hansel) Hale; four daughters, Sue Horton, Kansas City, Mo., Connie Byard, Overland Park, Barb Austin, St. Charles, Ill., and Leslie L. Smith, Louisburg; two sons, Tim Hale, Concrete, Wash., and Curt Hale, Shawnee; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
