O.A. Rider
Services for O.A. “Tex” Rider Jr., 67, Bonner Springs, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 22, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs. Cremation will follow and a family committal will be at a later date.
Mr. Rider died Friday Nov. 19, 2010, at the Medicalodge of Eudora.
He was born on March 8, 1943 in Parsons and grew up in Lawrence. He moved in 2004 to Bonner Springs.
Mr. Rider worked the majority of his life in the heavy highway construction industry, the last 20 years with Clarkson Construction.
He was proud to be a member of the Chickasaw Nation and enjoyed his Native American heritage. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include two sons, Lance (Cindy) Rider, Pleasant Hill, Mo., and Tony (Tracy) Rider, Shawnee; four brothers, Dennis Rider, Climax Springs, Mo., Larry Rider, Oak Grove, Mo., A.L. “Dusty” Rider, Grain Valley, Mo., and Wade Rider, Alabaster, Ala.; two sisters, Maelyne Duncan, Billings, Mont., and Judy Gilliland, Lawrence; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call at the visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, at the funeral home.
