Memorial services for Robert Lyle Cline, 74, of Bonner Springs, will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home after which friends and family will meet at the Bonner Springs Community Center.
Mr. Cline died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Cline was born April 2, 1936, in Kansas City, Kan., and was a lifelong Bonner Springs area resident. He was a 1954 graduate of Bonner Springs High School, where he ran track and played football. He started his career early, working at Lone Star Cement Plant. He later worked at Griffin Wheel Corp. as plant chemist and foundry foreman for more than 30 years before retiring. Later he went back to work for DuPont Fascia as head paint mixer for several years. He spent most of his spare time enjoying organic gardening and running his “city farm.”
His wife of 47 years, Nancy N. “Nan” Cline died in 2005.
Survivors include three daughters, Camilla G. Cline, Las Vegas, and Victoria M. “Vikki” Cline-Harra and Roberta L. “Robbie” Cline, both of Bonner Springs; a brother, Phillip Cline, McLouth; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Friends may also call at the visitation from 3 to 4 pm, Tuesday, Nov. 30, at the funeral home, prior to the service. The family suggests memorials to the American Lung Association, sent in care of the funeral home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
