John Cash

Services for John William Cash, 78, Fair Play, Mo., were Tuesday, Oct. 5, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Cash died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at his home.
He was born March 5, 1932, in Hickory County, the son of Tommy and Lottie (Ross) Cash. He grew up in the Bolivar area, spending a lot of time with his grandparents on their farm. He was baptized at a young age in Bear Creek and has been a lifelong member of Campbell Grove Church.
At age 18, Mr. Cash went to Kansas City. There he met Ruth Templeton. They were married June 8, 1951. She survives of the home.
Mr. Cash was employed by Santa Fe Truck Line for 35 years, retiring in 1987. The Cashes moved to Bolivar in 1993, bought land and built their home. He enjoyed raising and training Arabian horses and raising a big garden.
In addition to his wife, other survivors include a son, John Cash Jr. (Kimi), Spring Hill; a daughter, Joyce Jones (Larry), Bonner Springs; a brother, Charles Cash (Mary), Parkville, Mo.; two sisters, Helen Sellars, Kansas City, and Dorothy Saunders (Ernie), Camdenton, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of the funeral home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
