Charles Welsh

Memorial services for Charles H. Welsh, 80, Tonganoxie, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at the VFW Post Hall, Tonganoxie.
Mr. Welsh died Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, in Lawrence.
He was born April 24, 1930, in Lawrence, the son of Alanzo and Maude Hiloum Welsh. He served in the U.S. Army as a corporal in the Korean War.
He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church, Tonganoxie, and Tonganoxie VFW Post 9271
A daughter, Susan, and son, Tom Sr., both died earlier.
He married Edris S. Story on Aug. 7, 1964 in Kansas City, Kan. She survives, of the home.
Other survivors include three sons, Robert S. VanSchoelandt, Lansing, Brian L VanSchoelandt, Tonganoxie, and Charles W. Welsh, Leavenworth; a daughter, Lori D. Hill, Winchester; a brother, Homer T. Welsh, Eudora; 25 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the VFW Post.
