Dennis Burchett

Funeral services for Dennis Lee Burchett, 76, Eudora, were Monday, October 25, 2010, at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel.
Burial followed in Eudora Cemetery.
He died Wednesday, October 20, 2010, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
He was born June 2, 1934, in Humansville, Mo., the son of Willis and Lois Kennon Burchett. He lived in the Eudora area since 1965, after moving here from Eureka.
He served two years in the Kansas National Guard.
Mr. Burchett worked as a heavy equipment operator and he also was a skilled welder. He worked on septic systems in the area and had previously worked at the Hercules Army Ammunition Plant near De Soto.
He enjoyed fishing, his dog, Maggie, and country music each Saturday evening at Annie’s Country Jubilee in Tonganoxie.
He married Joeanna Evans on Feb. 25, 1955, in Osawatomie. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, David Lee Burchett and Randall Scott Burchett, both of Eudora; two daughters, Debbie Burchett, Eudora, Katherine Rose, Newton; a brother, Junior Burchett, Lamar, Mo.; a sister, Ardella Fugate, El Dorado Springs, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials in his name to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, or to the charity of donor’s choice. They may be sent in care of the mortuary.
