Alex Eli
Memorial services for Alex Jonathon Eli, 23, of Shawnee, will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, in Shelter No. 10 at Shawnee Mission Park. Another service will follow at 11 a.m. Friday, March 18, at Cedar Bluff Camp, Coffeyville.
Mr. Eli died Friday, March 11, 2011.
He was born Feb. 10, 1988, in Chanute, the son of John and Diane Powell Eli.
He grew up in Coffeyville, where he attended Garfield Elementary School and McKinley Middle School. After moving to Shawnee, he graduated from Mill Valley High School.? Mr. Eli had worked for IHOP in Kansas City and Denver since graduation. He enjoyed music concerts, the outdoors and spending time with family, friends and his dog, Sun.
He is survived by his father, John Eli, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla; his mother, Diane Eli-Caldwell, and stepfather, Bob Caldwell, Shawnee; a sister, Abbigail, Kansas City, Mo.; a stepsister, Krystan (Bruce) Koehn, Coffeyville; a nephew, Karter Koehn, Coffeyville; a stepbrother, Max Caldwell, Pittsburg; three grandparents, Dick Powell, Olathe, and Stan and Carol Eli, Coffeyville; two aunts, Susan (J.D.) Kerns, Shawnee, and Kak (Paul) Eli-Schneider, Topeka; and numerous extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew Eli; a grandmother, Norma Powell; and an uncle, Jim Eli.
