Mary Jo Cain

Services for Mary Jo “Grandma Jody” Cain, 86, Shawnee, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, at Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee. Burial will be in Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Mo.
Mrs. Cain died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at Trinity Nursing and Rehab, Merriam.
She was born Jan. 8, 1925, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Harold and Mary (Long) Hise. She graduated from East High School in Kansas City.
Mrs. Cain worked for Andy Klein Pontiac for more 35 years, where she coined the phrase, “Business is fine at Andy Klein.” After retirement, she worked part time for Weaver Auto Body and her son at Sante Fe Trails Plumbing. She was a past president of the board at Overland Park Christian Church.
A daughter, Patricia Lynn Sharp, and her second husband, Orlan L. “Shorty” Cain, died earlier. Survivors include a son, Michael (Christine) Sharp, Shawnee; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel.
The family suggests memorials to either Salvation Army or Animal Haven, sent in care of the funeral chapel, 10901 Johnson Drive, Shawnee, KS 66203.
