Louisburg blanks Tonganoxie High football, 49-0
Tonganoxie High’s Todd Brown goes up for the ball Friday against Louisburg at Wildcat Stadium in Louisburg. LHS handed Tonganoxie its first Frontier League loss with a 49-0 shutout. Tonganoxie (3-1 in Frontier League play and 3-3 overall) faces league leader Eudora this coming Friday at EHS. The Cardinals are 4-1 and 5-1 with their only blemish coming in Week 5 in an overtime loss against Louisburg.
Louisburg jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back Friday against Tonganoxie. The Wildcats eventually won, 49-0, staying undefeated in Frontier League play and handing the Chieftains their first conference loss of the season. LHS limited Tonganoxie to 76 yards of total offense — 66 rushing and 10 passing.
Colton Brusven, who is at 971 rushing yards for the season and averaging about 161 per game, was limited to 33 yards.
THS now will face Eudora (5-1) on Friday. Eudora defeated Schlagle, 55-7, Friday at home after losing to Louisburg, 28-27, in overtime in Week 5 at home.
