Tonganoxie High’s Benedict, Brusven to wrestle for medals Saturday; THS guaranteed 5 total
Tonganoxie High will have five medalists this year at the Class 4A boys wrestling state championships.
Victories from junior Colton Brusven (29-10) at 165 and senior Hunter Benedict (34-10) at 215 in the consolation bracket have guaranteed medals for both.
If each wins his next match, it will be on to the third-place match. A loss in the next match means a spot in the fifth-place match. The top six finishers in each weight class medal at state.
Also wrestling Saturday for THS are junior Braeden Moore (35-1) at 132 and freshman Brady Martin (38-7) at 144 in respective championship bouts and junior Noah Bailey (36-6) at 140 for third place at Tony’s Pizza Events Center in Salina.
