Tonganoxie High golf standout Hayden York is the recipient of one of five $10,000 Kansas Junior Golf Championship scholarships.

York plans to continue her golf career at Fort Hays State University and major in elementary education. She carries a 3.98 grade-point average.

She was one of three girls to receive the scholarship. Others were Bishop Carroll’s Keira Ronsick, who is undeclared but attending Newman University, and Garden City’s Ryann Warren, who plans to major in biology at Kansas Wesleyan.

The other two scholarships are going to Hutchinson Central Christian’s Gage Regehr, who plans to major in mechanical engineering at Kansas State, and Hutchinson High’s Ty Adkins, who plans to major in sports management at Wichita State.

York was a three-time state qualifier as a Chieftain and won the first individual title in THS girls golf history as a junior in the fall of 2021.
