Tonganoxie’s Kasia Baldock competes Friday in the high jump at the De Soto Invitational. She placed fourth with a height of 4 feet, 10 inches.

Tonganoxie High track teams competed Friday at the De Soto Invitational.

Eli Gilmore brought home a gold medal in the 800 meters with a time of 1 minute, 55.07 seconds. It was a good day overall for the Chieftains in the event, as Michael Bottary also placed sixth (2:09.37) and Jett Gilmore placed eighth (2:09.42)

Eli Gilmore also won gold in the, 1,600 with a 4:21.49 time. Bottary placed 10th (5:00.92) and Gavin Shupe 17th (5:28.74).

Here’s a rundown of other placers on the boys side:

3. Todd Brown, 100 meters, 11.52 seconds.

7. Todd Brown, 200 meters, 23.69; and 8. Kendall Smith, 200 meters, 23.95.

9. Huston Albert, 3,200, 11:42.42.

5. Isaiah Holthaus, 300 hurdles, 44.21.

2. 4×100 relay team, 44.04

2. 4×400 relay team, 3:27.57.

2. Isaiah Holthaus, long jump, 21 feet, 11.5 inches; and 6. Owen Schmidt, long jump, 20-2.75.

4. Owen Schmidt, triple jump, 40-4.

7. Anthony Roe, javelin, 133-4.

On the girls side, Kasia Baldock and Mikinzi Smoots were the highest finishers in fourth place in the high jump and triple jump, respectively. Baldock cleared a height of 4-10, while Smoots leaped to a mark of 33-10.5.
