Tonganoxie, McLouth basketball teams compete in preseason jamboree
Tonganoxie and McLouth basketball teams will get the regular season started later this week, but both were at a preseason jamboree Tuesday at Chieftain Arena on the THS campus.
Tonganoxie, McLouth and Jeff West all scrimmaged against each other on both the boys and girls side Tuesday after The Mirror’s print deadline.
This is the first year Kansas high school basketball teams are doing the jamboree.
The preseason jamborees started with football a few years ago, but the Kansas State High School Activities Association has opened the jamborees up to volleyball and basketball so far this year.
Tonganoxie basketball teams are on the road Friday at Louisburg, but will have their home openers Tuesday against Atchison. They’re back on the road Friday at Wamego.
McLouth boys and girls basketball teams open the season Friday at home against Horton, and then are at Pleasant Ridge on Tuesday in their first two games.
