Tonganoxie High boys soccer players go through drills during the first practice of the season Monday morning at Beatty Field.

The fall sports season has begun.

Teams opened fall camp with the first preseason practices Monday.

Tonganoxie squads will have various preseason Red-White intrasquad scrimmages, including practices and scrimmages Friday as part of the Tongie Tailgate for football, boys soccer and volleyball.

THS boys soccer will be the first fall Chieftain squad to open the regular season (be sure to take note of the schedule this week, as the Aug. 14 edition had an incorrect boys soccer schedule).

The team plays at home Aug. 30 against Kansas City Christian and is home again Sept. 3 against Mill Valley.

THS volleyball and girls golf start the regular season Sept. 3. THS volleyball is at Atchison, while THS girls golf heads south to an invitational at Ottawa.

The Tonganoxie football team opens the year a week later with a Frontier League clash Sept. 6 at Louisburg.

THS cross country will open with its traditional dual against Lansing on Sept. 7. This year’s dual is on the road.
