Tonganoxie High basketball games Monday have been moved to later this month due to anticipated inclement weather, while Tuesday’s games will be played Wednesday.

Games against Pleasant Ridge, originally scheduled for Monday, have been moved to Jan. 23 at Chieftain Arena. School officials announced Sunday that Monday games would be moved up 90 minutes in an effort to beat anticipated inclement weather, but Monday’s weather has now pushed those girls and boys games to Jan. 23.

Tuesday’s games now will be played Wednesday. The THS girls varsity team is set to play Christ Prep Academy at 6 p.m. and the THS boys are set to face Metro Academy at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Chietain Arena. The JV boys will play Metro at 5:45 p.m. in the auxiliary gymnasium, with the JV girls to play after that against Christ Prep.

A winter weather advisory, originally set to go into effect at 3 p.m. Monday, now begins at noon. It runs until 6 p.m. Tuesday. Snow accumulations of 2-5 inches and wind gusts as high as 45 mph are expected for portions of east central and northeast Kansas, according to the National Weather Service.

The THS girls are 0-4 in Frontier League play and 1-5 overall, while the THS boys are 0-4 in league and 0-6 overall.
