The Chieftains went 3-1 in OHS invitational with victories against Louisburg, Maize South and Ottawa. Tonganoxie’s lone loss came against Bishop Miege.

But Tonganoxie defeated Maize South (19-11) in two sets, a team that defeated Miege (10-14) in three sets.

That meant three teams finished the day with tournament-best 3-1 records.

Saturday’s results pushed Tonganoxie’s record to 17-12 on the season.

THS played Louisburg again Tuesday in a match that took place after The Mirror’s print deadline.

The team then plays Thursday at Bonner Springs before being back home this coming Tuesday against Spring Hill.
