Tonganoxie girls golf opens campaign at Ottawa Invitational
The Tonganoxie High girls golf team got the season started Wednesday, Sept. 4 with its first tournament of the season.
Paityn Van Middlesworth led THS at the Ottawa Invitational with a low score of 47. She placed seventh overall. Julia Staples placed 16th with a 55, while Lydia Rafols finished with a 57.
In her first tournament of the season, Alli Coffman had a birdie.
Tonganoxie features eight new golfers on this year’s squad.
Next up on the schedule is the Wamego Invitational at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Wamego Country Club. Other teams there are Wamego, Clay Center, Concordia, Council Grove, Holton, Marysville, Ottawa, Piper, Rossville and Silver Lake.
From there it’s on to the Hayden Tournament at Lamont Hill Golf Course in Topeka.
That meet starts at 3 p.m. Tuesday. Other teams there are Anderson County, Baldwin, Basehor-Linwood, Hayden, Iola, Junction City, Manhattan, Marysville, Osage City, Osawatomie, Ottawa, Piper, Santa Fe Trail, Seaman, Shawnee Heights, Silver Lake, Spring Hill, St. Marys, Topeka West, Wamego, Washburn Rural, Wellsville High School and West Franklin.
