Tonganoxie girls split double dual as Stean notches 100th career victory
Tonganoxie High split its double dual Thursday on Senior Night at Chieftain Arena.
It also was an evening when one of those honored seniors notched a milestone victory.
THS defeated Eudora, 58-18, in the first dual and then lost a battle of ranked teams to Basehor-Linwood, 52-30.
During the second dual, Tonganoxie senior Grace Stean won her 100th career match with a pin against Basehor-Linwood’s Kim Scott. She’s the first wrestler in the Tonganoxie girls program’s history to accomplish the feat.
Tonganoxie came into the night ranked No. 1 in Class 4A, while BLHS was No. 2 in 5A.
Next up for THS is the Newton Tournament of Champions on Jan. 15-16 in Newton.
