The Chieftain Stars placed third Friday at the Class 4A Game Day Dance Showcase at Storming Vail Events Center in Topeka.
THS placed third at state with an overall score of 81.87. Hayden won state with 89.67 points, while Independence finished second with 83.8. THS placed just ahead of Ottawa, as the Cyclones had 81.73. Bishop Miege placed fifth (80.5) and Fort Scott sixth (79.37).
