TRC offices opened last week in its new spot at 300 U.S. Highway 24/40 just west of Tonganoxie High School.

TRC director Brad Eccles said Tuesday that he’s busy assembling a staff to cover various hours of operation.

Some of the offerings at the new space are available certain days, but with an expanded staff, there can be additional opportunities.

Currently, indoor walking is available 8:30-10 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Pickleball is being offered 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays and 9 a.m.-noon Wednesdays. Adult open gym is 7-9 p.m. Wednesdays. Open gym also is available on select days.

But as the staff settles in, those offerings could expand. And, Eccles said some limited cardio equipment and the like should be available at the space by next month.

The building originally was home to Tonganoxie Junior High School and then became the Tonganoxie High School West Campus when a new middle school was built more than 15 years ago.

The revamped THS campus, which includes the two-story learning center that opened a year ago and the athletics wing that opens Monday made way for new opportunities in the west campus building.

It now is home to district offices and additional educational space, as well as new TRC offices.
