Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade is Saturday
The holiday season is almost here, as anyone making their way through the downtown area in Tonganoxie can conclude this week. The Christmas tree is up in front of Tonganoxie Public Library and will be decorated later this week.
Holiday decorations and lights were put up Tuesday along Fourth Street.
The decorations all are in preparation for the annual Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade, which will be Saturday evening.
The parade will start at 5 p.m. and make its way along Fourth Street in the downtown area. The parade will conclude near the library where the Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting will take place. Winners of the Good Shepherd school food drive will be announced and then families can visit Santa Claus inside the library.
Be ready to take photos with Santa inside his winter wonderland.
