Inaugural Story Blast event will be Saturday evening in Tonganoxie
Tonganoxie has eclipsed a population of 5,500, according to estimates recently released. The next official county will come with the 2020 U.S. Census.
Tonganoxie Arts Council will have the inaugural Tonganoxie Story Blast this weekend.
The event will be 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Ryan’s Public House, 622 E. Fourth St. in downtown Tonganoxie.
The theme for the Story Blast will be “The time I almost …” and there will be two categories: true story and tall tale.
Prizes are $100 for first place and $50 for second place in each category. To register, participants should go to tonganoixeartscouncil.org. Registration deadline is 5 p.m. today.
The first 12 people to register will be accepted. Others will be put on a waiting list in the event someone cancels.
Registration fee is $10 per participant.
