‘Elf’ is theme for Friday Fri-yay at rec center this week

A new mural greets visitors who enter the Tonganoxie Recreation Commission Activity Center gymnasium through its main downstairs entrance. TRC expanded its hours of operations a couple weeks ago and staff look to continue to add more offerings.Tonganoxie Recreation Commission will have an “Elf” movie-themed Friday Fri-yay.
TRC will be offering various activities from 5-7:30 p.m. Friday at the rec center.
Youths and adults can dive into Buddy’s homemade plate of spaghetti and jump around in the giant candy inflatable.
Visitors also can grab a cup of “World’s Best Cup of Coffee” and have coffee or hot cocoa.
In the gymnasium, there will be a “snowball fight” with a friendly dodgeball game. Guests also can make their own snowflake design with the paper snowflake station. The designs will be hung in the rec center for all to see.
In addition, TRC will be playing “Elf” in the lobby during the event.
