Family members last had been in contact with Carrie Rodriquez, 41, on Jan. 5, but Tonganoxie police said Thursday she had been found, per a short press release.

“We want to thank the media and all the citizens who assisted and showed concern,” the release from Chief Greg Lawson said.

Police asked for assistance in locating Rodriquez on Wednesday.

Law enforcement officials started investigating the whereabouts of Carrie Rodriquez, who recently was homeless, on Jan. 13.

Rodriquez last contacted her family Jan. 5 and told them she was calling from Bonner Springs, Wednesday’s release said. She had no phone and had been staying at shelters in the metropolitan area.
