Tonganoxie area in winter weather advisory starting Thursday afternoon

Here's a look Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, down Fourth Street in Tonganoxie following rain and heavy snowfall for Winter Storm Blair, which hit the area starting Saturday afternoon. Up to 2 inches could fall Jan. 9, per a National Weather Service winter weather advisory.Another storm is expected for the area, though predictions are well below last weekend’s winter storm.
The National Weather Service has issued winter weather snow advisories for the area. Lawrence and McLouth’s advisory is in effect from 3 p.m. today until 6 a.m. Friday. Tonganoxie’s advisory is 5 p.m. today until 9 a.m. Friday.
Snow accumulations are 1-3 inches with isolated areas around 4 inches for the advisory that includes McLouth and Lawrence. The advisory that includes Tonganoxie has accumulations up to 2 inches.
